The DHT11 is a simple and inexpensive temperature and humidity sensor, which is ideal for small projects with the Arduino, in which it does not depend on a high degree of accuracy of the measurements. It should be used for indoor measurements.

DHT11 – Temperature and Humidity Sensor
Specifications:
- Temperature: 0-50°Celsius, Tolerance: ±2°C
- Humidity: 20-95%, Tolerance: 5%
- Supply voltage: 3,5-5,5V
- only one data port (OneWire interface)
- minimal wiring
An alternative is the DHT22/AM2302, whose tolerances are much lower, and the ranges are larger. The wiring is the same for both. However, this is paid for by a higher price.
Projects with the DHT11:
- Sensors: Temperature & humidity measurements with the DHT11
Small Arduino project, including wiring and source code (sketch) - Simple indoor climate monitoring with an Arduino, BMP085, DHT11 and a RTC
Air pressure, temperature, humidity, time and date
