The LCD display which was originally used in the Nokia 5110 has indeed found a long time ago the way to a breakout board, but it is still simple useful for various microcontroller boards, because it can be relatively easily controlled and programmed.
Briefly introduced: Arduino Mega 2560
After a few small projects with the Arduino you may realize that the program memory for the sketches is rather small sized. So it is time to search for something bigger. You should look at the Arduino Mega 2560, which almost brings much more program memory, tons of new ports, more variable memory and additional static EEPROM memory with it. It is worth noting that the board has 4 hardware serial ports, which makes communication between other Arduinos much easier.
Briefly introduced: Network Shield for the Arduino with the Wiznet W5100 chip
With the here presented network shield, we can connect our Arduino simply to the internet.
Briefly introduced: The nRF24L01+ Module – an inexpensive and network-ready 2.4GHz Transceiver Development Board
The nRF24L01+ module, based on the eponymous Nordic Semiconductor chip from Norway, is an easy-to-use radio transmitter and receiver. With it, radio transmission up to 100 meters are possible, even more with an additional antenna and amplifier. It is suitable for the transmission of data between two Arduinos, as well as in larger sensor networks with multiple coupled radio modules.
Briefly introduced: The ultrasonic distance sensor HC-SR04
The HC-SR04 is a very inexpensive ultrasonic range sensor. He is primarily in robotics and autonomous vehicles in use, being possible to use the sensor for example for obstacle detection, but also level indicators or motion detection are possible with this sensor.
Briefly introduced: The PIC32-Pinguino-Micro
The PIC32 Pinguino Micro is a development board with the Microchip© PIC32MX440F256H processor. The manufacturer is the company OLIMEX Ltd. from Bulgaria.
Briefly introduced: Olimexino-32U4
The Olimexino-32U4 is an Arduino Leonardo like development board with an Atmel ATmega32U4 processor, that also takes over the USB communication. The manufacturer is the company OLIMEX Ltd. from Bulgaria.
